Frequently Asked Questions

How will a massage feel?

Massage on normal tissue is almost always a pleasant sensation. Massage in the area of an injury or chronic pain may at first cause some discomfort, which usually lessens noticeably in the first few minutes. Your massage therapist knows ways to minimize pain and will work carefully within what feels right to you. Always tell your massage therapist if you feel any discomfort so s/he can make adjustments. It is important to communicate.

Having a massage is a versatile therapeutic treatment for your health; a relaxing and pampering experience. It feels "Wonderful!".

A professional massage is a beautiful way of reducing stress, strain, and muscular and mental tension. Massage is a natural tranquilizer or stimulant – depending upon the type of techniques used. Massage helps soothe tired muscles, relaxes aching feet and reduces tension in the back, neck and shoulders.

What happens during your massage?

You will lie on a soft, warm, stable massage table and be covered throughout the massage. Unscented oil is applied to the skin throughout the massage. The massage treatment is tailored to your needs. The pressure will be light until the muscles become accustomed to the touch and then more pressure will be used.

What do I wear?

I suggest that you wear loose clothing like a jogging suit. Women are asked to refrain from wearing pantyhose or girdles. Ankle socks are okay. Undergarments should remain on during the massage.
